Ole Aale Movie Review

Marathi cinema has mastered the slice of life genre, and it barely makes a mistake in presenting this emotional bundle of giggles and tears. The film “Ole Aale,” directed by Vipul Mehta, fits within this specific genre yet doesn’t quite succeed in it.

A montage of the Lele Household opens the movie. Nana Patekar plays Omkar Lele, an elderly parent who is youthful at heart and lives each moment to the maximum. His son, Aditya Lele (Siddharth Chandekar), is a workaholic businessman who feels that material wealth equates to happiness.

The fact that O.Le doesn’t get to spend as much time with AaLe continues to nag at his heart. He doesn’t give his son the chance to spend even a single minute with him. In an attempt to keep his son inside the house, he keeps trying drastic measures. This constraint continues even when Omkar abducts himself to force Aditya to postpone all of his appointments and hunt him down throughout Pune in the hopes of eventually finding him back home.

Le receives a brain tumor diagnosis one day and is told he doesn’t have long to live. This forces O.Le and Aa. Le to embark on an exciting journey to spend their final moments together. The following is a story formed by a few unexpected turns throughout this quest. Along the trip, they run upon Kayra (Sayali Sanjeev), a mysterious traveler who catalyzes the development of this father-son relationship.

There is a literal adventure in the first half and an emotional roller coaster in the second. Nana Patekar’s vibrant personality only makes people laugh and grin. While Siddharth Chandekar does his best, he occasionally falls short of successfully highlighting AaLe’s emotional side. Sayali Sanjeev delivers excellent results. Indeed, these kinds of assignments have been the cornerstone of her career up to this point.

Even though the direction is mediocre, the lighthearted atmosphere is enhanced by the clever writing. When one becomes older, everyone would love to live the kind of life that Nana Patekar has created. The scenic locales of Kedarnath and Rishikesh are not adequately captured in the film. Except for the groovy song “Zaga Maga,” Sachin Jigar’s music is likewise subpar.

All in all, Ole Aale approaches similar problems in a lighthearted way, practically the exact opposite of Natsamrat. Ole Aale is proof positive that life is an adventure. You should see it once as a family, especially with your father. You won’t discover any logic, so don’t search for it. The secret to making it work is to caress your heart tenderly.
