Hurry Om Hurry Movie Review and Rating

Hurry Om Hurry Movie Rating – 3 out of 5

Plot of the Hurry Om Hurry

The music work of Parth Bharat Thakkar was excellent and other cast and crew of the movie did well. Even though it is a Debut movie for the director Nisarg Vaidya he did well and must be appreciated for his work.

Hurry Om Hurry Movie Verdict

Hurry Om Hurry, a “unofficial” remake of the Tamil film Oh My Kadavule, tells the tale of a guy who, after nearly getting divorced, is given another chance to mend his relationship. Will he choose a new flame or will he resolve his issues? The plot of the movie had all the makings of a lighthearted entertainment, but the writing is incredibly formulaic (though progressive at times) and ultimately contributes to the overall failure of the picture. The screenplay, which clocks in at around 150 minutes, was 20 minutes too long and got a lot sanctimonious at the end.

Two of the three main characters, who have been at each other’s sides through thick and thin in life, are introduced in the first scene of the play. They soon get engaged after an unexpected marriage proposal, but a year later, they are on the verge of divorcing. This is, that is, until “God” intervenes and gives the main character the ability to choose the love of his life. Even though the comedy itself looks a touch contrived, the drama has a light and bubbly tone. The drama’s first half does feature some rather captivating moments to keep you interested as the authors continue to emphasize the protagonist’s journey and the series of events that led to him being on the verge of divorce. Though the protagonist was meant to lean toward one of the two persons in his life, I thought the characterization of him was well done. He did a good job of setting up the second hour with his wife’s progressive change in their relationship and his connection to the friend he believes to be his life mate.

With a little of Bruce Almighty mixed in, the second half seemed like a crazy comedy caper, so I was really looking forward to it. However, the meal I was given was such a didactic lecture about maintaining marriage and love. It would have been much more enjoyable if the writers had included more humorous and confusing scenes. In addition, the guessing game regarding the protagonist’s ideal life mate had to have been continued till the very conclusion. However, you learn the protagonist’s leaning nearly halfway through the second hour, which sets up a number of sequences that are rife with predictability. Simply put, I did not experience the romantic high that I had hoped for. I sat there patiently waiting for a twist in the story, but it never came, and the writing kept becoming corny with every scene. Even though some of the loose ends were resolved at the conclusion, I couldn’t help but notice that the drama became so intense at one point that I found myself checking the time every five minutes. All things considered, the script falls short of expectations and lacks the original’s entertaining factor.
