12th Fail Plot
The story is based on the 2019 eponymous non-fiction book by Anurag Pathak about the real-life story of Manoj Kumar Sharma who overcame extreme poverty to become an Indian Police Service officer. Collections are going well and it’s surprising everyone. Vidhu Vinod Chopra directed the movie in a good way as it is the real story the scenes in the movie are directed very neatly.
The movie stars Vikrant Massey, Medha Shankar, Anant V Joshi, Anshumaan Pushkar, and Priyanshu Chatterjee. In November 2022, director Vidhu Vinod Chopra announced the film based on the novel Twelfth Fail, by Anurag Pathak. The film is inspired by the true story of IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma and IRS officer Shraddha Joshi.
Chopra the director of the 12th Fail movie announced that actor Vikrant Massey will play the lead, marking their first collaboration. Vikrant Massey did complete justice to his character Manoj Kumar Sharma and Medha Shankar played a very good role as a supportive girlfriend character. All the characters in the film are neatly designed and each character has its own importance which made the film become a huge success.
12th Fail Verdict
The story begins in such a way like Manoj Kumar Sharma who was born into a poor family who struggles a lot to meet their daily needs. He studied in a Hindi-medium school unfortunately, he could not clear his 12th class from where the actual struggle of Manoj Kumar Sharma started.
He did whatever odd jobs he got. He sacrifices his sleep to earn money to meet their family’s daily needs. He has a strict Indian family who is against corruption. Manoj and his brother decide to put a travelling car and charge a fee to earn money.
When Manoj’s brother took extra charges for travelling unfortunately corrupt officer tried to make them guilty to punish them. But the new DSP Dushyant Singh stops them. When Manoj asks the officer how to become a high-ranking officer like him, the officer advises him to “stop cheating”.
From that Manoj changed his behavior completely and started his studies seriously and one year later he cleared his 12th grade with a 3rd rank. Then he decided to pursue his BA to become an IAS officer. His grandmother helped him by giving him some money but unfortunately, the money got stolen by someone.
Later he joined an institute to clear his IAS exam. By making several attempts he was unable to clear the exam and he said to vacate the institute as he is unable to pay the fee for his classes. From there, he meets Gowri Bhaiya who provides free classes for the IAS exam.
Manoj Kumar Sharma took his help and finally, he cleared his IAS exam. The struggles he faced in clearing his exam are directed in a good way which gives inspiration to many people who are preparing for government exams. The director shows the actual struggle of the student situations he faces.
The best part of the film is Many real-life UPSC aspirants were cast in various roles. The film teaser was released on 10 August 2023. The trailer was released on 3 October 2023. The film was released on 27 October 2023 in the theaters. After making the huge success in Hindi, the makers announced that the film will be dubbed in Tamil and Telugu languages and was released on 3 November 2023.
