Plot of the Yatra 2 Movie
The music work of Santhosh Narayanan was excellent and other cast and crew of the movie did well. Director Mahi V Raghav he did well and must be appreciated for his work.
Yatra was released precisely five years prior to the 2019 elections, and Yatra 2 was scheduled for release on the same day and immediately before the polls as well. It goes without saying that the film’s creators intended for it to have an effect on the elections and political climate of the present. Yatra 2 is more akin to a documentary on the events purportedly occurring in YSR’s final days, tracing YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s political development.
YSR’s characteristics is effectively portrayed in numerous instances throughout the film. However, in contrast to YSR’s scenes, Jagan’s had less of an impact. Yatra 1’s success is solely attributable to YSR and his strong emotional connection to the populace, which is skillfully conveyed. The director ought to have penned more powerful sequences for Jagan’s persona.
Yatra 2’s first part is devoted to the said events surrounding YSR’s passing and how YS Jagan was mistreated by the Congress, the country’s central government at the time. Yatra 2’s story revolves around a sequence of occurrences that clearly portray the 125-year-old Central party and the “Telugu Nadu party” negatively. There were constant allusions to YS Jagan’s stubbornness and his lack of self-interest if he is bent on destroying you. The talks of Subhalekha Sudhakar on “Kadapa people” give Jagan a goosebumps, and his followers would love them.
The film presents controversial theories ranging from why Jagan lost the 2014 election to how he was imprisoned. Real-life people might be able to relate to most of the characters. There were several poignant moments and well-written lines that were effective. But the movie doesn’t have many scenes that evoke a sense of heights. The majority of it consists of a succession of incidents with bland narrative.
Although compelling speech is expected in the assembly scenes and the jail sequences, they were also unremarkable. Many other scenes don’t really touch home; they just kind of come and go. Despite giving almost all of the characters legitimate names, the director seems to have conveniently omitted the contentious personalities and moments.
Other than a brief statement from the chief minister of Telugu Nadu, there was not a single reference to Janasena or the BJP. Additionally, Sharmila was unable to be seen, even though Jagan continuously recognized YS Vijayamma’s assistance. Scenes become incomplete without Sharmila; most scenes seem to suffer from her absence. Following Jagan’s arrest, people are aware of the YS Family’s important role. The YSRCP underwent a sea change when Sharmila carried on the Yatra while Jagan was incarcerated.
Yatra 2 is essentially a summary of events from YSR’s death until Jagan won the 2019 elections. The creators want people to be reminded of the injustice that YS Jagan endured and how he overcame all obstacles to become a powerful figure. Although the meaning will be clear, Yatra 2 may have been a more interesting and enjoyable film.
